Youthab Housing Programs

Transition Home

The Transition Home provides safe and affordable housing with flexible supports in a home like atmosphere for young people 16 to 24 years of age. The home is staffed 24 hours per day, is located in Belleville and can house up to 9 young people. The Transition Home provides the following services: subsidized supported housing, individualized case planning, individual and group counselling, life and social skills assessment and training, recreational activities and assistance in preparing the young person to make the transition back home or to a more independent living situation.

Cooperative Housing

The Cooperative Housing Program is available for the more independent young person aged 16 to 24. This program provides staged supported housing to a young person until he/she is prepared for a more independent living environment. In the Cooperative Housing Program a young person shares a home with two or three other residents. Admission to the home is through an assessment or follows residency in the Transition Home. These homes provide daily supports.

Mental Health Counselling

The Community Mental Health Program provides confidential assessment and counselling services to young people between the ages of 16 and 24 in Hastings County. Services include information and consultation, individual case planning, counselling for individuals, couples and/or families.

As part of Youthab’s mental health counselling program, Youthab has partnered with the Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and the Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board to provide mental health services in many of the high schools in Belleville, Trenton and Madoc. Youthab’s In School Counsellors are on-site at the high schools and see students for counselling to deal with issues, which may include depression, anxiety, family conflict, anger, etc.

Transitional Aged Youth (TAY)

The TAY Program provides youth and their families who live in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties with assistance in connecting to and receiving supports for mental health and addictions services. It provides services for individuals who require intensive case management services and linkages to a variety of resources. This program is targeted to individuals and families whose needs exceed the spectrum of services offered through Youthab’s Community Mental Health Program.

Career Edge Employment Programs

Career Edge has been providing employment services since 1987 and has offices in Campbellford, Amherstview, Napanee, Northbrook, Picton and Trenton. Career Edge provides a variety of Employment Ontario services for youth and adults. Whether you are looking for your first or last job or you’re an employer needing employment services, Career Edge is here to help. Services are provided free of charge.
